A Christmas Party
We really enjoyed ourselves. We played games and opened gifts, then had a cookie exchange. I think everyone thought the best part was the announcement that school was delayed 2 hours and that there was no seminary!

Cookie exchange recipes:
Pretzel treats
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip
mix butter, both sugars, vanilla, lemon juice & eggs together
mix separately oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon then add to wet ingredients.
add chocolate chips.
bake for 8-10 minutes
Gingerbread cookies
1/2c. molasses
1 egg
2 1/2c. flour
1tsp baking soda
1/2 allspice
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1TBL ginger
1/2 tsp salt
cream butter and sugar together, then beat in egg and molasses. Stir together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Add dry ingredients to the wet and beat together. cover and chill for at least 2 hours.
preheat oven to 350 degrees. on a lightly floured surface, roll the dough about a 1/4 of inch thick. cut out to desired shapes and the place on a cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake about 7 minutes. let cool then decorate.
*note: leave out baking soda for making gingerbread houses.
